This unit is a broad introduction to the structure of the Earth and its atmosphere. Despite being a chemistry unit there is very little chemistry involved, it would be better classified as Earth science. The beginning of the unit covers the bulk of the physical science, whereas the latter looks at the content from a position of ecological responsibility. Given the scale of the subject matter, practical experiments are limited, so a greater focus has been given to modelling ideas. Being a broad topic, it is easy to get off track, so stick to the outlined curriculum.
The unit also looks at our place within the universe, the features in our solar system, and beyond.
