This week, we had the pleasure of filming a series of expert tutorials on First Aid with Paul Dodson, an Emergency Care Practitioner paramedic and member of the College of Paramedics UK with 32 years of experience.
Paul has a wealth of experience over his career, including patient referral, assessment and treatment. He also offers independent medical and First Aid training and has won a range of awards for the quality and duration of service he has given the medical profession.
At DE, we recognise the importance of young people having an expert knowledge and understanding of First Aid skills, how to recognise an emergency and how to treat or respond to an emergency. It is critical that our pupils learn about important life skills, and who better to advise on this than someone of Paul's calibre?
In this video, Paul explains how to offer assistance and CPR to a person who has choked on an article using a test dummy to make the demonstration realistic and engaging for pupils.
